The EZ School Council is an advisory body that works with the administration to improve student achievement and communication with parents/guardians. Council meets eight times throughout the school year with the principal and vice-principal to set priorities for the school and enhance student learning.

Council has four key focus areas; Literacy and Numeracy, Community Engagement, Healthy Living, and Arts and Culture. We direct funds to projects and activities that fall within these key areas. Past projects have included schoolyard greening, One Book, One School sessions, parenting workshops and subsidizing school bus rentals for field trips.

At the beginning of each school year, parents are invited to become members of the School Council. If you are interested please complete and return the form sent home with your child on the first day of school. An organizational meeting is held before the end of September.

Parental involvement is a significant factor in your child’s success at school. The Ministry of Education encourages active involvement by its support of School Council.
