Elizabeth Ziegler Public School will remain closed for the remainder of the week:

School Remains Closed for March 6 and 7, 2025
The decision to temporarily close the Elizabeth Ziegler building was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The closure of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School will extend beyond the initial period, as WRDSB Facility Services staff and contractors require additional time to conduct comprehensive structural testing.
Before and After School programs run by the WRDSB at the school will also remain closed for the rest of the week.
Supporting Student Learning
We will support the continuity of students’ learning through asynchronous learning resources from their virtual learning environment, where applicable, and/or WRDSB@Home for resources. Students may also work on previously-assigned work or spend time reviewing material previously covered.
Students’ Essential Belongings
We are working with staff and contractors to determine next steps to retrieve essential belongings for students during the closure.
We ask that families whose children have essential items at the school, to contact us via elz@wrdsb.ca.
Next Steps
We know that a school closure can be disruptive for students and families. Staff and contractors are working to open the school safely and as quickly as possible.
We anticipate being able to provide a further update about next steps by or before Friday, March 14, 2025.
