What do these 3 things have in common? They are all ways that our students are able to demonstrate social responsibility. Social Responsibility means that we are acting as caring citizens who want to make our world a better place for everyone.

At our monthly assembly today we had a Uganda update from Jacob Shelley, who delivered shoes to Uganda in December. He shared a letter thanking the EZ students for their generosity.

We also had the kindergarten students from Mrs. Feere’s class show us some of the beautiful homemade paper that they made from paper scraps in the classroom. They explained how they took scraps and recycled them into a usable product.

Finally, we had some of our Union of Youth students tell us about an upcoming opportunity for our junior students to take a vow of silence for 24 hours. This vow of silence is in recognition and support of children around the world who do not have a voice. The vow of silence will take place on April 17.

All of these activities fit into our goal of social responsibility, and allow our students to do their part to make our world a better place.

Our April monthly character goal is: EZ Tigers are socially responsible.
